Scope of Our Organization
SCPaRID is the District Five Subchapter of the PA Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
(PARID). The territory includes the counties of Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Dauphin, Lebanon,
York, Cumberland, Franklin, Adams, Lancaster & Snyder
SCPaRID's Philosophy, Mission & Goal Statements
SCPaRID has adopted the philosophy, mission and goals of its parent chapter, PARID,
in that:
The philosophy of SCPaRID is that excellence in the delivery of
interpretation/transliteration services among people who are Deaf/Hard of
Hearing and people who are hearing will ensure effective communication. As a
subchapter of the professional association for interpreters and transliterators,
SCPaRID serves as an essential arena for its members in their pursuit of
excellence.
It is the mission of SCPaRID to provide local forums and an organization
structure for the continued growth and development of the profession of
interpretation and transliteration of American Sign Language and English.
It is the goal of SCPaRID to promote the profession of interpreting and
transliterating American Sign Language and English.
